Born from the Soil of the Hills
Dal of the Hills was created with one simple dream —
to share the authentic flavours and nourishment of Uttarakhand’s mountains with the world, while uplifting the people who grow them.
We saw how industrial farming and processed food were replacing traditional wisdom.
So, we decided to go back to the roots — quite literally.
By working directly with local hill farmers, we bring you dals that are:
- Naturally cultivated on terraced slopes
- Sun-dried under open skies
- Hand-cleaned using traditional methods
- Packed fresh without chemicals or preservatives
Each pack of Dal of the Hills is a tribute to Pahadi simplicity, strength, and self-reliance.
More Than Food — A Way of Life
For mountain people, food isn’t just sustenance — it’s culture, community, and connection.
A bowl of steaming Gahat Dal after a long trek, the comforting aroma of Rajma Chawal on a cold evening — these are memories that stay forever.
We wanted to share that same warmth with every home.
So, when you open a packet of Dal of the Hills, you don’t just get pulses —
you get a taste of Himalayan life, where food is slow, pure, and full of heart.
